Saudi Arabia Plans to Host the Richest Cricket League Similar to IPL
Saudi Arabia plans to host the richest cricket league in the world with the help of BCCI and IPL owners. Indian and Pakistani players can participate in it. ICC is also aware of this cricket development plan of Saudi Arabia.
As per BCCI’s current rules, Indian players are not allowed to participate in overseas T20 leagues. Saudi Arabian government representatives may convince the BCCI to revise the rules for their richest T20 league proposal.
Saudi Arabia has held talks with IPL owners and the BCCI to build the world’s richest T20 cricket tournament in the Gulf state. This discussion has been going on for more than a year and senior cricket administrators, coaches, and players from various countries are aware of it.
Indian players may be allowed to participate in foreign leagues for the first time if the tournament is held. The ICC is aware of the development, and ICC Chairman Greg Barclay has confirmed Saudi Arabia’s interest in adding cricket to its recent sports investments.
Saudi Arabia has partnered with BCCI in the ongoing IPL. Saudi Arabia Tourism is the official partner of IPL 2023. Moreover, the country has invested in F-1, golf, football, and other sectors.
