Rashid Khan Owns the Record for Most Hat-Tricks in T20 Cricket
Rashid Khan made history and now owns the most hat-tricks in T20 cricket. This leg spinner gave Gujarat Titans the taste of a hat-trick for the first time in IPL history. The Afghan cricketer reached this milestone against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. Rashid’s hat trick is the first in the current IPL 2023.
Gujarat captain Rashid scored a hat-trick by dismissing Kolkata Knight Riders batsmen Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Shardul Thakur in Ahmedabad. On the first ball, Russell got confused and took a devastating catch at the googly. Narine, another Caribbean star, was caught on the boundary while hitting a six off the next ball. On the third ball, Rashid trapped Shardul’s leg before.
This Afghan leg-spinner outdid everyone. Rashid Khan became the first bowler to score four hat-tricks in Twenty20 cricket. Andrew Tye, Mohammad Shami, Amit Mishra, Andre Russell, and Imran Tahir have three hat tricks each.
Apart from IPL, Rashid has hat tricks in Caribbean Premier League and Big Bash. One of his previous three hat tricks was for the Afghanistan national team against Ireland. Rashid’s record match slips out of Gujarat’s grasp. Ringku Singh won Kolkata by scoring 29 runs in the last over.
