In the 22nd match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Pakistan is set to lock horns with Afghanistan at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, on Monday. Looking at their head-to-head records, Pakistan has won all seven One-Day Internationals (ODIs) it has played against Afghanistan.
Pakistan vs Afghanistan Match Preview, Details, Live Streaming, and ODI Squad
Pakistan got off to a great start by winning its first two games. But the team has been bad lately. They lost to India and Australia back-to-back, which is not good. They are no longer in the top 4 on the table because of this. Even though there are still a lot of games left, Pakistan needs to step up if they don’t want to fall even further behind.
Abdullah Shafique, who took over from Fakhar Zaman at the top of the order, has shown that the managers were right to trust him. The young player should feel very good about himself after scoring a quick fifty against a strong Australian bowling attack.
When Imam Ul-Haq was having a bad time, he got fifty on Friday, which made things better. The performance of middle-order batsmen like Babar Azam, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Mohammad Nawaz is still a worry, but Mohammad Rizwan has once again shown that he can be counted on and has scored the most runs so far in the event.
Pakistan needs to work on their bowling because it has been one of their biggest weaknesses so far. The wickets of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Hasan Ali add up to 24. However, each of them has cost over six runs, which is way too much.

Afghanistan’s performance has been very poor, except for their amazing win over the reigning champions, England. The team will have to work on all parts of their game to keep their hopes alive because they have a couple of tough games coming up.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz has had some great moments at the top of the order, but Ibrahim Zadran needs to do a better job of helping him. Hashmatullah Shahidi and Azmatullah Omarzai have also played well at times, but they will need to be more consistent moving forward.

Rahmat Shah and Najibullah Zadran haven’t been as good as they could be in this World Cup. Ikram Alikhil, who has played in place of Najibullah in the last few games, looks good and could be very important going forward.
When it comes to bowling, Rashid Khan has been as good as expected, taking six wickets. Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who has four against his name, has been a good supporter of him. But Mohammad Nabi has had a hard time.
