Vijay Shankar to face Injury in World Cup 2019
Indian player Vijay Shankar will join his team’s players who are currently facing an injury threat while his foot is injured during a training session on Wednesday. The 28-year-old right-hand hitter was hit in the toes by Jasprit Bumrah’s Yorker on Wednesday during a training session which was also got affected by rain after a while.
A report from the news agency citing a source close to the team revealed: “Yes, Vijay was suffering but had calmed down at night. Hopefully, there’s nothing scary.” Shankar, who is getting used to it as a floater for Indian batting line he is designated hitter batting at number four. During the mega-match between Pakistan and India, he played an important role in the team’s victory in defeating Pakistan’s crucial wickets, including Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed.
