West Indies Beats Australia in the 5th T20 International 2021 and won the Series by 4-1

The host West Indies secured the T20I series win after winning the three matches in a row. West Indies beat Australia in the 5th and the Final T20 International by 16 runs and won the T20 series 2021 by 4-1.

The West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 199 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Evin Lewis played a stormy inning of 69 off 34 balls with the bat. Australia won the toss and elected to bat. Australia was bowled out for 173 for nine. As a result, the Windies won by 16 runs. The win ended 4-1 in a five-match series.

Andre Fletcher returned with 12 off 18 balls to bat, but another opener Evin Lewis played a stormy inning. He scored 69 off 34 balls. Evin Lewis hit nine sixes with four fours in the innings. Chris Gayle scored 21 runs off 8 balls with two fours and two sixes. Besides, Lendl Simmons scored 21 off 25 balls and captain Nicholas Puran scored 31 off 18 balls.

Andre Russell-Dwayne Bravora pointed out the failure of the middle-order despite five top-order batsmen getting runs with the bat. For Australia, Andu Tie took 3 wickets and Marsh and Adam Jampa took 2 wickets each.

After battling for a big target of 200 runs, Australia could not form a big pair. They lost wickets at regular intervals and dropped out of the win. Captain Aaron Finch scored the highest 34 runs (23 balls) for the team. Besides, the innings came from Marsh’s bat for 30 runs off 15 balls.

Moises Henriques scored 21 off 14 balls, Matthew Wade scored 28 off 18 balls, and Sepson scored 14 off 12 balls for 183 runs in 20 overs. Sheldon Cottrell and Andre Russell took 3 wickets each for the Caribbeans. West Indies’ Avery Lewis was the best in the match.
