We are patient with world-class Rishabh Pant, Says Coach Ravi Shastri

The head coach of India, Ravi Shastri, has put his weight behind Rishabh Pant, saying the all-rounder-batsman is a world-class player and that the team management will provide you with all the support you need to thrive in international cricket.

In recent times, Pant has criticized for his lack of consistency with the bat, aggravated by the way he is fired.

“Pant is different, he’s world-class, and he’s a brutal game-winner. Very few in the world game; I cannot choose five in my hands when it comes to white-ball cricket, Cricket T20. So the patience we will have with him is a lot, ” Shastri told a national newspaper.

He also said that the 21-year-old “has done enough” and will only learn with experience in the future.

“All your media reports and all the experts who write (but) Pant is in a great space with this Indian team. Experts, you have a job, you can talk. Pant is a special boy, and he’s done enough. Moreover, he’s just going to learn. The management of this team will support it to the bottom. ”

The head coach of India also spoke about his earlier comment on Pant, where he had asked the left-handed hitter to take more responsibility.

“Don’t say team management, and I talked about” the knuckle rap.” If anyone mocks, I have to pull him, ” he said.

“Am I just there to play board? However, this guy is world-class; this guy can be destructive; he can be a destroyer. Also, we will give him all the support he needs to prosper in international cricket, ” he added.

Earlier, former Indian Yuvraj Singh also supported the Delhi hitter, saying that getting the best of Pant by understanding his psychology, rather than suppressing the young wicket hitter’s natural game is the way to go.

Pant has long promoted as the replacement of MS Dhoni behind India’s stumps. While his talent is recognized by many, he has been the subject of significant criticism in his short career for how he is fired and the perception of the lack of ability to put a value on his wicket.

Yuvraj said one should refrain from comparing Pant with Dhoni. “MS Dhoni was not made in one day. It took a few years, so it will also take a few years to replace it. There is one year left for the T20 World Cup, so there is still much time left, ” said the former polyphyletic Indian.
