Waqar Younis Likely To Be Pakistan Bowling Coach

Pakistan’s former skipper and one of the best bowlers of history Waqar Younis also threw his hat into the ring to become the next bowling coach for Pakistan.

According to the reports and sources, the former skipper Waqar Younis formally submitted his application on Thursday 22th August 2019, to consider for the post.

Surprisingly, Waqar Younis only apply for the position of bowling coach despite previously served as head coach of Pakistani side on two separate occasions.

The 47-years-old Waqar stint as Pakistan head coach serves from May 2014 to April 2016, after which he replaced by South African head coach Mickey Arthur.

It should be noted that Cricket Pakistan previously reported that former Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Akram is the main contender for the Position of Pakistan’s bowling coach.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently decided not to renew Azhar Mahmood’s contract as bowling coach and invited high-level applications for the vacant position until August 26.
