Wahab Riaz Breaks Imran Khan Record

Wahab Riaz breaks Imran Khan record as Wahab Riaz surpassed former captain Imran Khan to finish second on the World Cup’s best wicket list by a Pakistani bowler. Mushfiqur Raheem became the 35th wicket of the Wahab in World Cup 2019. With his eleventh valet in the current edition of the World Cup, he overtook the former captain of Pakistan, Imran Khan. Imran Khan, who played in five World Cups from 1975 to 1992, had 34 wickets in 28 games with an average of 19.26. However, Imran only opted for bowling in 19 of these 28 IDOs.

Wahab Riaz now has 35 out of 20 games on average with an average of 25.91 at three World Cups from 2011 to 2019. At the top of the list, however, remains Pakistan’s fast-thrower and “Swing Ka Sultan” Wasim Akram, who has 55 World Cup wickets under his belt. Fast bowler Wahab Riaz was nowhere on the scene for Pakistan’s World Cup team, but selectors recalled him, as the bowlers selected for a bilateral series against England couldn’t impress much. Since then he has been impressive and has received praise from all for his return performances.
