Babar Azam Breaking Record in T20, Pakistan’s First Batsmen to Score 500-runs in T20 Tournament

Unstoppable, Babar Azam, The Pakistani Batsmen as he became the first-ever batsmen in Pakistan to score more than 500 runs in a T20 tournament on Saturday 24th August 2019, and break record of Ahmed Shehzad scoring 486-runs.

Previously, opening batsmen Ahmed Shehzad held the record for scoring Most runs at the T20 tournament for Pakistan when he scored 486runs in the 2012 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) edition.

Barar Azam continued its rich vein form at the Vitality T20 Blast and played a 63-stroke inning from 42 balls to help Somerset record the 25-runs victory over Glamorgan on Saturday.

The first-order batsman was declared a player of the game for his inning, which included seven fours and six.

The 24-year-old, Babar Azam also completed 4000 T20 runs during his 115 innings and became Pakistan’s fastest batsmen, in terms of innings, to reach this milestone.

Babar Azam is currently the top scorer in the Vitality T20 Blast with 541 runs in 11 games, averaging 60.11.
