U19 India Wins Asia Cup 2019
India under-19 cricket team beat Bangladesh to wins the Asia Cup 2019 final title for the seventh time in its history. In a low final, India won the match by five runs thanks to the brilliant bowling alley of Atharva Ankolekar, the young player from Mumbai, who won 5 wickets in the Bangladeshi rounds.
By winning the draw, India’s under-19s chose to compete at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. India’s debut was far from them, as the Bangladesh bowlers sent the top three Indian batsmen back to just eight runs. After captain Dhruv Jurel formed a modest partnership with Shahwat Rawat, he won the team’s last 50 assists.
After that, India first lost Shashwat, then quick wickets at regular intervals. Karan Lal was Men in Blue’s leading scorer with 37 decisive innings in the lower category. Meanwhile, skipper Jurel ran 33 runs. India set a target of 107 runs in Bangladesh, which was easy.
To become champions of the 2019 Asian Under-19 Cup, it was enough to score 107 runs in 50 goals for Bangladesh. Unfortunately, they couldn’t do it, and the whole team got the result of 101. Atharva Ankolekar was the star of India’s victory. He fired five batsmen to become champions of India.
