The Women’s ICC World Cup 2021 has also been postponed
The Women’s ICC World Cup 2021 in New Zealand has also been postponed due to the deadly coronavirus that has spread worldwide. The ICC said in a press release on Friday (August 8th).
The 2021 Women’s ODI World Cup in New Zealand is not being held on time. Although it was supposed to be held in February-March 2021, due to the situation arising due to Corona, the event was held in February-March 2022.
This is the second major cricket event to be postponed due to the deadly coronavirus. Earlier, the men’s Twenty20 World Cup in Australia was cancelled for the same reason.
Meanwhile, the ICC has announced a new date for the World Cup in Australia, which was cancelled on the day of the postponement of the Women’s World Cup. According to the new date, Australia will host the World Cup in 2022 after India hosts the T20 World Cup in 2021.
The cricket world is now getting the World Cup for three consecutive years due to Corona. After the Twenty20 World Cups in India and Australia in 2021 and 2022 respectively, the ODI World Cup will be held on Indian soil in 2023.
