Sunil Gavaskar slams people questioning Jasprit Bumrah bowling action
Legendary Indian Batsmen Sunil Gavaskar lashed out and slams people who criticized Jasprit Bumrah bowling action after he became the third Indian bowler to pick up a hat-trick in Test Cricket.
Moments after Bumrah got rid of his hat-trick on the second day of the ongoing Test against the West Indies at Sabina Park, commentator-turned-cricketer Ian Bishop made a shocking revelation.
As she commented on Saturday, Bishop stated that “some people” had questioned the legality of Bumrah’s bowling action and said, “I can’t believe some people question the legality of Jasprit Bumrah’s action.”
“Your action is unique, but it’s within the rules of the game. It’s one of the cleanest. Some people need to look in the mirror says, Bishop.
Gavaskar, who was also present in the commentary, expressed his disbelief. “Can you name them? Who are these people who question Bumrah’s action? Gavaskar asked.
“Let’s see it up close… A few steps and then take momentum and finally release the ball with a straight arm. Now tell me where his arm is bent. It’s perfectly fine,” he said
“People really should make a living,” Gavaskar added, explaining the 25-year-old Indian player’s bowling action.
Bumrah finished with 6/27 figures in the first innings, helping India face the West Indies for just 117. The West Indies are 45/2 in their pursuit of 468 in the second Test.
