Sri Lanka Security Delegation Visit Lahore for Investigation
Sri Lanka Cricket delegation received information on the security situation in Lahore. Visitors first took a tour of the city’s secure office and then taken to Gaddafi Stadium.
The security delegation also briefed on the safety of the places and the route. The Head of the Security Delegation, Mohan De Silva, while speaking with the media, stated that he is grateful to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for taking them in confidence regarding his security plans.
De Silva said:
Today we meet the police personnel and security agencies of Lahore. We thank the PCB you have entrusted to us concerning its safety provisions. We will report our findings to the Sri Lanka NSC, which will then decide on the tour to Pakistan.
According to the sources, the current plan is to conduct the first Test against Sri Lanka in Karachi from 1 to 5 October. The Sri Lanka team will fly to Lahore on 7 October 2019. The second Test scheduled for October 9 to 13 2019.
The Sri Lanka team will fly to Karachi three days before the first Test if the tour obtains authorization from the SLC.
