Sourav Ganguly Not Allowed to Watch the WTC Final 2021
India and New Zealand will meet in the final of the Southampton Test Championship. Board officials, including BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, were scheduled to travel to England to watch the World Test Championship final 2021, which starts on June 18. However, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) did not allow Sourav Ganguly to watch the WTC Final 2021 between India vs New Zealand.
Ganguly and board officials will have to spend 10 days in quarantine due to Corona when they go to England to watch the final. The ECB did not give any exception to that rule. The BCCI president and board officials are not watching the final.
Confirming the matter, a senior BCCI official said, “The ECB did not allow Ganguly and board officials to visit England to watch the final. Board officials usually stay on the field when visiting abroad. But this time the situation is different. If I went to England, I would have to stay in quarantine for 10 days. The ECB did not give any concessions to the board officials.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s team and staff have been allowed to take the family on a four-month-long tour of England. The board official also spoke about this.
“It’s good news for India’s men’s and women’s teams,” he said. The cricketers of both the teams will be able to take their families on the tour of England. The ECB has given the green signal in this regard.
