Somerset removed the alcohol ad from Babar Azam’s jersey
Sometimes, despite reluctance, people have to get involved in some work, which is later criticized by people. Pakistan’s ODI and T20 captain Babar Azam got into a similar predicament this time.
He was later criticized for wearing a jersey with the alcohol company’s logo. However, after the matter went viral and Babar Azam said that he will never wear a jersey with the logo of the liquor company.
The county cricket club in Somerset, England, owns the advertising rights to the jersey. But Pakistan’s T20 captain Babar Azam does not want to put the alcohol logo on his jersey. He, therefore, requested the club to remove the logo.
Somerset removed the alcohol ad from Babar Azam’s jersey. Athletes often discourage the promotion of alcohol or tobacco products. This has happened before. Many do not even take part in the advertisement for soft drinks and cosmetics. This time Pakistan’s star batsman Babar Azam followed that trend.
He then informed the club that he would not play a match with that logo. Because Babr has been criticized on social media. Somerset has said it will not have the logo on its jersey. Somerset has been in trouble for him.
Earlier, Hashim Amla, Imran Tahir, and Adil Rashid got into trouble for putting alcohol logos on their jerseys. They have also agreed to compensation terms for removing the logo from the jersey.
