Shoaib Malik joins the Pakistan team
Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik joins the Pakistan team in Southampton today for the three-match T20I series against England starting August 28.
Shoaib, 38, had to travel to England with the main team but requested a special travel waiver from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to spend time with his family in India.
The SUV has met his family, his wife, tennis star Sania Mirza, and their one-year-old son, Izhaan Mirza Malik, after the Indian government lifted the ban on air travel on July 31.
The Pakistani cricketer spent the last few months in Sialkot due to the ban on international travel following the global COVID-19 pandemic. He was previously involved in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which started on February 20 before it was suspended on March 17.
The team management has decided to remove the emerging pacemaker Musa Khan from the 29-member team.
On the other hand, assistant head coach Shahid Aslam had also joined the team after visiting Lahore due to the death of his father.
