Shoaib Akhtar questioned Younis Khan Coaching Ability

Younis Khan was appointed as the batting coach of the Pakistan national team on June 9 this year ahead of the tour of England. But former Pakistan speed-star Shoaib Akhtar questioned Younis Khan coaching ability. According to him, Younis has no qualifications to be the batting coach of the Pakistan national team. Rather, Mohammed Yusuf is much better than Younis.

“It is a big mistake to make Younis Khan the batting coach of the Pakistan team,” Shoaib, who is known as the Rawalpindi Express, told a Pakistani television channel. He has no qualifications to be a batting coach. He can be the coach of the national cricket academy because of his qualifications.

Shoaib said it would have been better to have Yusuf instead of Younis. Yusuf’s experience has benefited Pakistan’s young batsmen, he said. “I think Yusuf is the best person to be the batting coach of the national team,” he said. Yusuf was also a great batsman in his playing career. Pakistan has won a lot with his hand. His experience would have been very useful for the younger generation.

Yusuf has scored 6530 runs in 90 Tests, 9820 runs in 26 ODIs and 50 runs in 3 T20s for Pakistan. He has 24 centuries in Tests and 15 centuries in ODIs. Younis has scored 10099 runs in 117 Tests, 6249 runs in 265 ODIs and 442 runs in 25 T20s. He has 34 centuries in Tests and 6 centuries in ODIs. Pakistan won the T20 World Cup in 2009 under the leadership of Younis.
