Shakib Al Hasan Became Second Bowler to take 100 wickets in T20I

AUS vs BAN 2021: Shakib Al Hasan Became Second Bowler to Reach 100 Wickets Milestone in T20I

Shakib Al Hasan became the second bowler to reach the milestone of 100 wickets in the T20I. Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga became the first cricketer to take 100 wickets in T20I cricket. Shakib became the second-highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket with four wickets against Australia.

Shakib achieved this feat by returning Ashton Turner at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur in the last match of the five-match series on Monday (August 9). Through this he established another club in T20 cricket. Shakib Becomes The Only Player to Take 100 Wickets and Scored 1000 Runs in T20I. In T20 cricket, no all-rounder has yet scored 100 wickets and 1000 runs. Although he touched the milestone of one thousand runs long ago, he achieved the feat of one hundred wickets on Monday.

In Test cricket, 61 all-rounders have taken 100 wickets and 1,000 runs. In ODI cricket this number is 65. However, Shakib Al Hasan is the only cricketer to take one thousand wickets and one hundred wickets in T20 cricket.

In both the Test and ODI editions, 24 cricketers have scored 1,000 runs and taken 100 wickets with the bat. Needless to say, Shakib Al Hasan is the only cricketer to have achieved this feat in three editions.

Shahid Afridi is the second highest wicket-taker in the International Twenty20 with 97 runs. However, he will not be able to be a part of this club just by saying goodbye to international cricket.

West Indies’ Dwayne Bravo and Mohammad Nabi are the next highest wicket-takers among the 1,000-run cricketers. They have taken 6 and 72 wickets respectively.

Tim Southee and Rashid Khan, who are on the verge of taking 100 wickets, have yet to score even 300 runs in their T20 careers. So it can be said that Shakib will be the sole member of this club for a long time.
