Sarah Taylor Returns to Cricket To Play in Hundred League 2021

Former England women’s wicketkeeper-batsman Sarah Taylor is returning to cricket and will play in the Hundred League 2021 for Wales Fire in the 100 ball franchise tournament in England.

The 31-year-old cricketer Sarah Taylor retired from international cricket in 2019 due to mental exhaustion and depression. Taylor recently signed a temporary contract with the coaching staff of the Sussex men’s cricket team for the upcoming season. Sarah Taylor finally returns to cricket and fans will love to see her playing 100 ball tournament.

She has a total of 232 dismissals in 10 Tests, 128 ODIs, and 90 International Twenty20s.

‘The Hundred is an interesting tournament, very competitive, especially for girls,’ Taylor said. “We have got good players from all over the world and greed cannot be curbed from participating in such competitions.”

Wells Fire head coach Matthew Mott is delighted to have Taylor on the team.

‘Sarah is one of the best cricketers in the history of England. Needless to say, she can improve anywhere. We are very happy that she has joined us. Her experience and her impact on the game are important for the team. In the first season, we want to build a strong foundation in the team, ”said Mott.

Georgia Warham will also replace Australia’s Jess Jonassen in the squad. Jonassen has been ruled out of the tournament due to personal issues. Wareham has taken a total of 53 wickets in 19 ODIs and 32 T20I matches against Australia.

Wales Fire will start the Hundred League 2021 Live Streaming on July 24 with an away match against Northern Superchargers in Leeds.
