Sachin Tendulkar fans celebrate 25th anniversary of master Blaster maiden ODI Century
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar could have won hundreds of hundreds in international runs spanning 24 years, but for many, his most memorable ton is the maiden century he got in ODI and fans celebrate 25th anniversary of Tendulkar’s maiden ODI one hundred he scored.
#OnThisDay in 1994 – Great batting @sachin_rt scored his first One Hundred ODI,” BCCI tweeted making fans nostalgic on social media.
ICC also paid tribute to the legendary hitter. “On this day in 1994, Sachin Tendulkar scored his first ODI hundred, against Australia in Colombo … and the rest is history,” ICC wrote on Twitter.
One fan wrote: “Sachiiinnn sachinn sachiiiiiinnn Sir (sic)”.
Another fan wrote, “And then he never stopped.”
A third fan wrote on Twitter: “Great celebration … there are no bad words like now.”
On 9 September 1994, Tendulkar hit his first ODI hundred, a 110 of 130 balls against Australia in Colombo.
Tendulkar faced the likes of Glenn McGrath, Craig McDermott, and Shane Warne with showing the milestone, their innings mixed with eight boundaries and two sixes while India won by 31-runs.
