Sachin Tendulkar Congratulates Amitabh Bachchan

Indian superstar Amitabh Bachchan was unanimously selected for this year’s Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar confirmed the news on Twitter. Where Sachin Tendulkar congratulates Amitabh Bachchan on being chosen for the award.

“The legend Amitabh Bachchan who entertained and inspired for two generations was unanimously selected for the #DadaSahabPhalke prize. The whole country and the international community are happy. My sincerest congratulations to him” tweeted Prakash Javadekar.

This award recognizes Mr. Bachchan’s outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema. Mr. Bachchan will celebrate his 50th birthday of Indian cinema this year. He made his debut in 1969 with the film Saat Hindustani.

After the announcement, the Bollywood fraternity and fans began wishing Mr. Bachchan access to social media. Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar also congratulated Big B. In his message, Sachin used the famous dialogue of the hit film Agneepath by Senior Bachchan.

“Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, Poora Naam. Baap Ka Naam Dinanath Chauhan, Maa Ka Naam Suhasini Chauhan. I’m Gaon Mandwa. Umar 36… ‘a line that gives me goosebumps even today! May you continue to win hearts around the world, Amit Ji,” Sachin tweeted.

Released in 1990, Agneepath is considered one of the best films of all time. For his performance in the movie, Mr. Bachchan received his first national award for Best Actor. A remake of the film was directed in 2012 by Karan Johar with Hrithik Roshan.
