Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan Improves T20 Rankings
Rohit Sharma moved up to eighth while Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan moved closer to the top 10 of the latest ICC T20 batsman rankings released by ICC on Wednesday. Kohli, unbeaten with 72 of 52 balls in the second game of the three-match series against South Africa, which ended in a 1-1 draw, helped him earn a spot and finish 11th. Meanwhile, Dhawan climbed three places to number thirteen after scores of 40, 36 in the 2nd and 3rd T20I respectively.
Rohit is in eighth place with Englishman Alex Hales. Both batsmen have 664 points. The series in India also saw South African batsman Quinton de Kock move from 49th to 30th, his highest position in two years, after scores of 52 and 79*.
Tabraiz Shamsi entered the top 20 of the bowlers’ rankings for the first time while Andile Phehlukwayo was seventh, the best result of his career. In the T20I team rankings, India is fourth behind South Africa (3rd), England (2nd) and Pakistan in the first place.
