Rohit Sharma Paid Tribute to Lasith Malinga
Rohit Sharma paid tribute to Lasith Malinga and his Mumbai Indian teammate Lasith Malinga, who bid farewell to The Cricket of One Day International (ODI). On Friday night, Lasith Malinga ended his illustrious ODI career in Colombo in front of his home fans with the last ball gate he threw. Malinga finished his illustrious career as the ninth-biggest wicket-taker, having 338 wickets, surpassing Anil Kumble’s box office in the 50 plus format.
Since making his debut in 2004 against the UAE, Malinga has played at 225 ODI. And his unusual bowling style has made him a formidable bowler in limited series cricket. In addition to his illustrious career for the country, Malinga has contributed greatly to his missions for the Mumbai Indians. In the recently ended Indian Premier League season, Malinga defended eight points in the last to help the Mumbai Indians win their fourth IPL trophy by beating Chennai Super Kings.
Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Mumbai Indians, wrote a very sincere message for his teammate. He wrote:
“If I were to choose one match-winner among many others to Malinga over the past decade, this man will be at the top. As captain, Malinga let me breathe during a tense situation and he never failed to deliver best wishes Lasith Malinga for the future “
