Rishabh Pant break former Indian Skipper MS Dhoni Record
An Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant breaks the record of former Indian Skipper (Mahendra Singh Dhoni), MS Dhoni to become the fastest Indian Wicket Keeper to claim 50 wicket dismissals in Test cricket. Previously the Record held by MS Dhoni for claiming 50 wickets in just 15 Test Matches while Pant breaks Dhoni Record claiming 50 wickets in 14 Test Matches.
Playing in his eleventh test against the West Indies in Sabina Park, Pant on Sunday claimed his fiftieth victim when he took an easy catch of Kraigg Brathwaite on Ishant Sharma’s bowling with the hosts chasing an unlikely 468 for victory in the second Test of the two-match series. Dhoni conducted 15 tests to claim 50 wickets in Test Match History.
In December last year, Pant (21-years-old) equalized the world record for most catches in a wicketkeeper’s test, passing 11 in the first Test Match against Australia in Adelaide to tie with English heels Jack Russell and AB de Villiers South Africa. The 20 catches of Pant in that are also the highest of an Indian wicketkeeper in a series of tests.
