  • In the ICC player ranking for test batsmen, his top position was sixth in October 2013.
  • In the ICC player ranking for ODI batsmen, his top position was seventh in July 2013.
  • In the ICC player ranking for the T20I batsman, he reached number one in April 2008 and stayed there for 313 days.
  • Hit the fastest half-century in Test history with just 21 balls against Australia in Abu Dhabi in 2014
  • Matched the world record of the then most rapid test by reaching his century with only 56 balls in the same innings
  • The only player to score three scores of 99 in a cricket test
  • Marked most ODI works without a century (5,122), striking 42 half-centuries in the process
  • Played in three ICC T20 World Cups and was part of the 2009 winning team
  • Competed at the ICC Cricket World Cups in 2011 and 2015, totaling 598 points and averaging 49.83

  • Captured Pakistan’s national team in 56 Tests – more than anyone else
  • Only captain to lead Pakistan to victory in the Test Series in the West Indies
  • Won 26 Tests as captain, more than any other Pakistani captain; lost 19 and drew 11
  • Led Pakistan to first place in the ICC Test Championship in 2016 and held it for two months
  • Captured in eight T20I, six wins, and two losses
  • Achieved in 87 ODI, winning 45 wins and 39 losses, two tied and one without result

 

Won the ICC Cricket Award in 2016 “for inspiring his team to play the game in his true spirit, while moving the Pakistan cricket team from number four to number one in the Test team rankings without playing any Test matches in his home {Pakistan} country.” Captain Islamabad United to his first HBL PSL title in 2016.
