Ravindra Jadeja Thanks Virat Kohli For Backing Him
Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja thanks skipper Virat Kohli for supporting him to back him in the team Playing 11. Jadeja made his first Test match against the West Indies when he scored a vital 58-point shot. The visitors were embarrassed as they were 207-7 and needed more runs to reach a competitive score.
Subsequently, Jadeja added a crucial alliance of 60 races with Ishant Sharma. The fast-paced pitcher also provided good support by scoring 19 points. The Southpaw drummer showed resistance and proved himself again by following the order.
For his part, Virat Kohli has always been under the scanner for his team selection. Former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar was baffled by the exclusion of Ravichandran Ashwin who has a sublime record against the West Indies. Also, Sourav Ganguly wanted Rohit Sharma to be in the eleventh final.
“You feel good when the skipper believes in you and sees you as the main player. Fortunately, I was able to repay my faith by performing,” Jadeja told reporters.
The left-hander scored six feet by four and a six on his 58 good points to bring the tourists to a respectable score of 297. Besides, the left arm wheel scalped a wicket.
“When I fought in the middle, I just tried to build a partnership. I was concentrating on playing with the guards. I was just worried about my game, I was trying to give my best on the park,” Jadeja added.
India put its nose ahead of the Struggling West Indies at 189-18 and the hosts are still 108 points behind. Ishant Sharma was the host’s chief convenience store as the big fast-thrower stripped five runners. Besides, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami each took a wicket.
