Ravichandran Ashwin will lose the captaincy of Kings XI Punjab, KXIP
Ravichandran Ashwin will reportedly miss the captaincy to Kings XI Punjab KXIP. A decision is likely to be made when team officials meet later this week.
Ravichandran Ashwin goes through a bad phase
Even after being the country’s premium roulette wheel, Ashwin ignored in the first Test match against the West Indies. Now it seems that it’s your lousy time may get worse. KXIP management is considering changing the pattern of the computer. Also, the possibility is that Ashwin may not even be included in the squad for IPL 2020 Live Streaming.
Ashwin was chosen by King XI Punjab by INR 7.8 million at auctions before IPL 2018. Since then, he has led the franchise for the past two seasons but without much success. So now KXIP is discussing the options of exchanging Ashwin with a couple of IPL franchises: Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals reported on the Mirror. Nothing has yet decided, and a decision is likely to be made by the end of this week.
But the capitals have a captain based on Shreyas Iyer. He has led the team to the IPL play-offs for the first time in 7 years, as they finished third in IPL 2019. For the Royals, the choice between Ajinkya Rahane and Steve Smith is already a headache.
According to reports, THE KXIP captaincy can go to KL Rahul. The franchise is also looking for a new head coach. After the departure of former New Zealand head coach Mike Hesson, they are in talks with the likes of Geroge Bailey and Darren Lehmann.
Ashwin, as a player, although he had decent stints with the Punjab-based team, the inability to take them to the playoffs has become a significant problem. Fortunately, you will not have financial losses, but you may not get captaincy status if you change it to Delhi Capitals or Rajasthan Royals.
