Rashid Latif Questioned about Central Contracts by PCB

Former Pakistani cricketers Rashid Latif and Basit Khan raised questions about the announcement of new central contract by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The former wicket-keeper and batsmen Rashid Latif expressed surprise at the 19 cricketers selected for the central contract, even before the creation of a new selection committee.

Rashid Latif Said:

Why do you need a selection committee now? You made the selection yourself. Now the selection committee will have to choose between these players. It would have been better to award the new contracts with the advice of the selection committee.

On the other hand, Basit Khan also expressed his shock over the new contracts. Khan wondered aloud why the players had contracts without a selection committee.

Basit Khan Said:

I thought there wasn’t a selection committee at this time overall.

It should be noted that after the departure of the former Chief Selector Inzamam ul Haq, the PCB must appoint a new head of the selection committee. Candidates for this position include former players Mohsin Khan, Rashid Latif and Shoaib Akhtar.
