Rashid Latif Lashes Out at Cricket South Africa CSA
The South African Cricket Board has ruled out a five-star cricketer for the upcoming T20 series between Pakistan vs South Africa 2021 at home. At that time, the Proteas will go to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif lashes out at Cricket South Africa CSA and is upset over South Africa’s decision.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) has given leave to Kagiso Rabada, Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, and Anrikh Norkier for the IPL. The country’s cricket board has decided to do so as it already has an agreement with the board.
However, Rashid Latif has sharply criticized Cricket South Africa (CSA) for prioritizing the IPL over the national team. In an interview with Pakistan’s popular TV channel PTV Sports, the former Pakistan captain said,
“Rabada, Miller, De Kock, Engidi, and Narkiara will play in the IPL during the T20. If Pakistan dropped five of their key players, would South Africa still play with us? So why are we playing with them? ”
“They should not play with weak teams. When both boards decided on this series, they decided to play with their full strength. But you are fooling the broadcasters by playing with a weak team. ” He added.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) has also not included experienced Faf du Plessis in any of the ODI and T20 format.
