Kagiso Rabada not losing sleep over the rise of Bumrah, Archer
The South African spearhead Kagiso Rabada is not losing sleep due to the meteoric rise of Jasprit Bumrah of India and Jofra Archer of England.
“It’s never easy to maintain a career; I’ve learned that there are a lot of ups and downs. I want to be the best in the world; everyone does it,” Rabada told reporters.
“Naturally you’re going to compete that way, I’m not too worried, I feel nice and easy.”
“I’m disappointed, not angry [about the World Cup]. What do I do with anger? When a setback comes, you want to be determined, and you don’t want to change many things. It’s about seeing where you are weak or you went wrong and then putting in extra hard work. “
Rabada will be one of South Africa’s key weapons on their tour of India. The first of the three T20s will enter on September 3 and will follow by three tests.
“I admire those bowlers, they’re good bowlers,” said Rabada, who will have the opportunity to improve his numbers in the next T20I and Test series in India, when asked about Bumrah and Archer.
“However, the media exaggerates certain players, and that’s fine; I know I’ve been playing well. Archer is a natural talent; Bumrah is doing wonders, and that can force him to lift his game. He’s not always at the top, that’s one thing I can tell you. “
South Africa had a disappointing World Cup campaign in which they crashed the World Cup with Rabada who also failed to ignite his magic. Bumrah and Archer, however, have done quite well in this period. While Bumrah returned with 13 wickets from the Test series in the West Indies, including a hat-trick, Archer has shown his class since making his Test debut in The Ashes.
