Kings XI Punjab started their IPL 2019 with a 14 runs victory over Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. The Stars of the show were Chris Gale and bowlers. Gale hit 79 runs of the 47 balls to bring the Kings into motion in 184 for four before the bowlers staged a brilliant comeback after the attack of Jos Battler-who scored 69 of the 43 balls was run out on the mandkaded by Ravichandran Ashwin.
Chasing 185, the openers of Rajasthan Ajhinka Rahane and Buttler crashed to 78 out of eight before the Rahane fell for 27 runs. Butler added 30 runs for the second wicket partnership with Sanju Samson 30 runs before he was dismissed by Ashvin. Steve Smith scores 20 runs and Samson added another 40 to the third wicket before both fell from Sam Curran. Leaving 35 in the last three sheep. With Ben Stokes and Rahul Tripathi in the center, the goal looked very well within the reach of the hosts, but the young Afghan spinning man Mujib ur Rahman removed both in the 18th for 6 and 1 respectively for giving only 8 runs.

With The 21 needed for the last break, Ankit Rajput took off Krishnappu Gautam (3 runs) and Jaydev Uadokata (1 run) from the first two balls before skipping just six of the next four balls to secure the victory.
