Prithvi Shaw Responds to His Suspension News
Indian batsman Prithvi Shaw was banned for eight months after being found guilty of violating anti-doping standards. The opener reportedly consumed over-the-counter cough syrup earlier this year in February. Shaw, 19, cannot compete until November 15, BCCI confirmed in its statement.
“The eight-month suspension period will be deemed to have started running on March 16, 2019, so it will end at midnight on November 15, 2019,” the statement read.
“Mr. Shaw may return to train with his national team and/or use the facilities of any BCCI member club or organization after midnight on September 15, 2019”.
Reacting to the news of his suspension, Shaw posted a statement on his Twitter account.
“I accept my destiny in all sincerity. While I’m still nursing an injury I suffered in my last tournament, this news upset me. “
“Cricket is my life and there is no greater pride for me than playing for India and Mumbai. And I’m going to get out of it faster and stronger”.
