On Thursday, June 24th, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, Multan Sultans will face Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL 2021 final. When Multan Sultans defeated Islamabad United by 31 runs in Qualifying, they became the first team to reach the final of the PSL 2021. Peshawar Zalmi advanced to the title match by defeating Karachi Kings by five wickets in Eliminator 1 and Islamabad United by eight wickets in Eliminator 2.

Multan Sultans interrupted Islamabad United’s five-match unbeaten streak at PSL 2021 by defeating them in Qualifier. Multan Sultans finished with five victories and the same amount of defeats in the league stage. Shan Maqsood’s 59 and Johnson Charles and Khushdil Shah’s 40 dashing runs helped the Sultans record a challenging 180 for 5 in their first innings.

Tanvir’s maiden wicket, combined with a runaway, reduced Islamabad United to 14 from 3, securing a spot in the 2021 PSL final for the Multan Sultans. Peshawar Zalmi defeated Islamabad United in Eliminator 2 after defeating Karachi Kings in Eliminator 1. Peshawar Zalmi bowled first and was fortunate to capture Khawaja (1) early when he ran out of a deflection at the non-forward end after backing down.

After then, the Bowlers never let Islamabad United establish itself. Mohammad Irfan suffocated them at 1 for 21, and it needed Hasan Ali’s 16-ball whirlwind 45 to drive Islamabad United to 174. It was a high-scoring total. Hazratullah Zazai, on the other hand, hit a 66-on-44 shot to put Peshawar Zalmi on the road to victory. When Peshawar Zalmi booked their well-deserved position in the final, Jonathan Wells (55 not out of 43) and Shoaib Malik (32 not out of 10) hit the Islamabad United bowling lane.
