Match Preview

The West Indies One-Day International squad is presently in Pakistan for a three-match series in Multan, beginning on June 8. The tour is a continuation of the West Indies’ journey to the nation in December, which was cut short due to an outbreak of covid-19 in the visitors’ camp.

The ODIs were originally slated to be played in Rawalpindi, but the possibility of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s protest demonstrations in Islamabad, which is close to Rawalpindi, necessitated a change in site. Each of the three games will now be played under the lights in Multan.

The ODI series is part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League, which will determine the direct qualification of the top eight teams for the 2023 World Cup. Pakistan is now tenth in the points standings, while the West Indies are ranked fourth.
