Pakistan U19 Skipper plays down hype ahead of Indo-Pak contest in Asia Cup

Pakistan U19 Captain on says that the Indo-Pak contest in Asia Cup would be just a regular match for us that is going to held on 7th September. Pakistan’s under-19 skipper, Rohail Nazir, during a media talk in Karachi, minimized the exaggeration of the Indo-Pak Asian Cup match in Sri Lanka on 7 September. The under-19 skipper Rohail Nazir stated that it would be a regular cricket match.

Nazir insisted that the anti-India party was having the same level of importance as other gatherings such as Afghanistan and Kuwait.

“The match against India is a normal match. We will design our strategies according to the teams we face. As cricketers, we will focus on every match. For us every party is important,” Nazir said. “We’ll watch the tournament match by game. We will try to win even if we face Afghanistan, India or Kuwait.”

Nazir hoped for the excellent performance of his team in the tournament.

“We are hopeful of a good performance in the Asia U-19 Cup. We look forward to offering some good performances,” he said.

The young captain was confident that the team had received an adequate amount of training to compete against the best teams in the tournament.

“We have received great training through the training camps. We tried to eliminate the problems we had in the batting and bowling departments. We’ve also worked very hard to improve our field standards,” he said.

He also stressed the importance of the tournament by saying he could pave the way for a future spot in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Habib Bank Limited (HBL) for players who perform well.

“If we perform well at the U-19 level, we could be cleared of the way at PSL. We can capture the attention of selectors through good performances. I’ll try to benefit my team through my batting,” he concluded.
