Pakistan to play 5 T20Is and 1 Test Match in the West Indies Tour 2021

According to the ICC Tour Plan (FTP), the Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to tour the West Indies in July 2021 to play three Tests and a Twenty20. However, with the T20 World Cup 2021 looming, Pakistan will play fewer Test matches on the tour. The two boards have agreed to reduce one Test in the series and extend two T20 matches.

Pakistan Cricket Board chief executive Wasim Khan confirmed the information. In other words, Pakistan will now play a Test match and a five-match T20 series in the West Indies tour.

In this regard, Wasim Khan said, ‘T20 matches have been increased by reducing one Test keeping in mind the upcoming T20 World Cup. With this, both teams will be able to prepare for the T20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan cricket team will travel to England to play ODIs and the T20 series before the Caribbean tour. From there it will fly directly to the West Indies.

The first two T20s of the five-match series will be played in Barbados and the next three in Guyana. The venue for the Test match is set to play in Jamaica. Pakistan will also play a practice match to prepare for the Test series.

The last time Pakistan visited the Caribbean was in 2016. Pakistan won the Test and T20 series at home. Misbah-ul-Haq and Yunus Khan, who played in that series, will be the coaches this time.
