Pakistan should focus on the remaining tests
Former England cricketer Michael Atherton suggested to Pakistan test captain Azhar Ali’s men that they focus on the positives of the first match and go ahead with a solid plan in the remaining tests matches.
Speaking to Zainab Abbas on his YouTube channel, Atherton said the Pakistani skipper should lead his team positively in the upcoming tests.
“If I was in Azhar Ali’s place, I would have focused on all the good things Pakistan did,” he said. “Pakistan needs to make a solid game plan against England to beat them in the remaining tests,” he added.
The former English captain also recalled a moment after they lost badly to the West Indies in the early days of his captaincy. “I still remember it, it was the first days of my captaincy and we lost badly to the West Indies, we left by just 46 in the last session despite dominating three and a half days.
Everyone was focused on the last session, while I was focused on the fact that we beat the West Indies for three days. I told the players that this is the area we should all focus on to recover, ”he recalled.
It should be noted here that Pakistan lost to England by three wickets in the opening event at Old Trafford. The second three-game test series will begin on August 13 in Southampton.
