Teams from the Army, Navy, Pakistan Air Force, Wapda, Police, Railways, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, Islamabad, Azad Jammu Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, POF Wah, Higher Education Commission, and Pakistan Board will compete in the event, which will take place from November 27 to December 4 at the Gymnasium’ Hall in Lahore.

Speaking at a news conference regarding the tournament, Pakistan Volleyball Federation head Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob said some incentives for players and winning teams will be at stake, and professional incentives would be granted to players when the PVF opens its professional league shortly.

“The PVF has a decent squad to attract sponsors, and the [proposed] league, which will be a clone of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), would attract a number of foreign players,” he explained.

Pakistan, according to the PVF chairman, has all the ability to qualify for the Olympics if the government, as well as the media and sponsors, promote volleyball.

Chaudhry Yaqoob said that Pakistan’s volleyball players had the fitness level and skill of the world’s top volleyball-playing countries, stating that the country is presently ranked seventh in Asia and 39th in the globe.

When questioned about the anticipated impact of the current government’s intention to eliminate sports departments from the public sector on volleyball, he stated that numerous elite volleyball players from Wapda, Railways, Police, HEC, and Pakistan Board will be harmed by this policy.
