New Zealand VS England CWC19 Final Result

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first in the 2nd Semifinal of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Match Summary:

England won the World Cup for the first time after beating New Zealand in a dramatic Super Over after a heartbreaking finale that ended in a tie at Lord’s. After Eoin Morgan’s team finished on 241 in pursuit of the New Zealanders 241-8, the final ended in a six-ball shootout for each team. England’s Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler took 15 points from Trent Boult.

Jofra Archer dominated England against Martin Guptill and Jimmy Neesham, who broke the ball six points from the second. Jos Buttler and Jason Roy, had to make two back passes to allow Guptill to come back for the second. Both teams finished on 15 while England won because of a decisive game rule, as they crossed more boundaries.

After defeats in previous finals against Pakistan in 1992, Australia in 1987 and the West Indies in 1979, England won the final and named as the Champions of World Cup 2019. Ben Stokes was in tears as the English players danced happily around the pitch. Morgan and his team-mates were cheered by the ecstatic crowd of Lord’s when they joined Bobby Moore’s footballers in 1966 and Martin Johnson’s rugby team in 2003 as World Cup winners in England.

In my opinion, both the teams deserve for the World Cup 2019 as they both fought well for the trophy. The luck was not with the kiwis and turn the match in favor of England.

Man of the Match Award:

Chris Woakes was awarded as man of the match award for his splendid bowling performance.
