New Zealand Beat Sri Lanka and Level Series 1-1,

New Zealand beat Sri Lanka by one inning and 65-runs in the second Test in Colombo on Monday to block the two-match series 1–1. Sri Lanka defeated by New Zealand as Kiwi levels the series now.

New Zealand achieved the win with an hour remaining on day five when Lasith Embuldeniya edged the Trent Boult’s ball to Kane Williamson at Gully position.

Sri Lanka eliminated by 122-runs after New Zealand declared its second inning in 431 to six with a 187 lead in the first inning.

Wicketkeeper’s batsman, Niroshan Dickwella, fought a lonely battle for the Sri Lankans but was the ninth man after a three-hour vigil. He made 51.

New Zealand split the two series of matches after losing the first test match at Galle last week.

Sri Lanka scored 244-runs in his first innings and was still 187 behind when he started his second, staggered to 88 to seven at tea.

New Zealand then cleaned up Sri Lankan team and Win the Test Match by levelling series

William Somerville, out of the spinner, had Suranga Lakmal caught by Tom Latham, the match’s top scorer with 154 before Ajaz Patel caught Dickwella. Patel, Tim Southee, Trent Boult and Somerville finished with two wickets each.
