Players from England and New Zealand improved their ODI Players Ranking after participating in the 2019 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup final in The Lord’s Final on Sunday.
The latest rankings update, which takes into account the performance of the semi-finals and the final, makes players on both sides reach their personal best in the last two stages.
Tournament player Kane Williamson reached a career-high 799 points following the semi-final against India, in which Kane scored a significant 67-runs inning. He finished the tournament with 796 points, winning two points in his two matches.
While compatriot Ross Taylor has finished the tournament in fifth place, having reached the 841 highest qualifying points of his career previously in the tournament.
England’s champion, Ben Stokes, finished the tournament with the top 694 points of his career, won five spots and placed in the top 20 and ranked two of the best places of his career 18 years ago, two years ago.
Jason Roy’s 85 valuable runs in the Australian semi-final have helped him be in the top 10 for the first time.
Another notable winner in the batsmen’ rankings is Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja whose brave 77-hit New Zealand has raised him in 24 places to 108th place.
Pair of Australian captains Steve Smith and the wicketkeeper has won two spots each to reach positions 29 and 32, respectively.
In the bowler qualifiers, Chris Woakes’ three-for-20 efforts in the semi-final and three-for-37 in the final have taken him to 676 points and seventh place. He just left behind the sixth-place finish he reached in April 2017.
Jofra Archer has continued his steady ascent, reaching the top 30 for the first time in his career. He finishing with 20 wickets at the World Cup 2019.
The consistency of New Zealand bowler Matt Henry has taken him back to the world’s top 10. He took three wickets in the semi-finals and one in the final. His best previous goal was fourth place in 2016.

Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh continues to top the list of all-rounders. But second-placed Stokes reached a career-high 319 points.
