Nepal Cricket Association Bans Sandeep Lamichhane Arrest Warrant Issued
Nepal’s national cricket team captain Sandeep Lamichhane has been banned by the country’s cricket association. They took this decision by calling an emergency meeting after a case was filed against Lamishan. The Nepal Cricket Association confirmed Sandeep Lamichhane’s ban in a statement on Thursday (08 September).
Earlier on Tuesday (September 07), a 17-year-old girl from Nepal filed a case against Lamishan along with her guardian for rape. After that, the Nepal Police started an investigation based on the complaint.
The girl was also sent to the hospital for a medical examination. Later, Nepal’s Kathmandu District Court issued an arrest warrant against Lamishan. After that, he was banned by the country’s highest cricket governing body.
Earlier, according to Nepal Police, the girl complained that this tragic incident took place on August 21 this year. The victim was a fan of Kishori Lamishan. A friendship developed between the two due to regular chats on WhatsApp and Snapchat.
After the meeting, both of them left for Nagarkot, Nepal. After going there, the girl kept chasing Lamishane to return to the hostel quickly. But Lamishane did not listen to his words, so it was too late to return.
After that, when the girl’s hostel was closed, they rented a room to spend the night in a local hotel. Later that night Lamishane raped the girl, it is said in the complaint.
