Najeeb Tarakai Died in a Road Accident

Tarakai was seriously injured when he was hit by a private car in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, on Friday (October 2nd). He was later rescued and immediately operated on at a hospital in Nangarhar. But then he went into a coma.
The right-handed batsman (Innalillahi Wainnailahi Rajiun) died on Tuesday (October 6) while on life support at an intensive care unit. The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed the information in a condolence message.
According to the Afghanistan Cricket Board, Najeeb Tarakai was an aggressive batsman and a brilliant man. The news of his death in a fatal accident has saddened the ACB and Afghanistan’s cricket-loving nation. May Allah have mercy on him.
Najeeb Tarakai, 29, has played 12 T20s and one ODI for Afghanistan. He made his T20 debut in 2014 against Bangladesh. Besides, he played his last T20 match in Dhaka against Bangladesh in 2019. The ACB also said that the untimely death of Najeeb Tarakai had taken a heavy toll on the cricket team.
