Najam Sethi blamed Ehsan Mani for the failure of Pakistani team’s performance at the World Cup 2019
Najam Sethi, the former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), feels that Pakistan’s current team is under clouds of vagueness and players are concerned about their future in the Pakistani international team. Sethi told The News in London on Wednesday that the current administration of the Pakistan Cricket Board is not backing the way it should. “Everyone is disappointed by the way the team has performed in the World Cup, but one should not press the panic button”.
The PCB is not supporting the team or the administration in the way it should be. Pakistani Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, Coach Mickey Arthur, and at least two other players are uncertain about their future in Pakistani International team”. The former PCB Chairman said, in addition to this, he said it is PCB’s job to keep the team together. He also criticized PCB for issuing a statement about the team’s performance in the middle of the tournament. He also added that Prime Minister Imran Khan should not have given public guidance.
“No matter how much cricket one has played, but a prime minister shouldn’t be saying things to get public.”If I had to tell you something, I should have broadcast it to you privately,” Sethi said. “He brought Sarfaraz in unnecessary pressure and criticism for not hearing the notice,” he added. Sethi went on to say that the cricket committee’s statement before the tournament has also damaged the team’s environment. The former PCB Chairman added that players have now hired public relations agents to stay connected in power corridors.
