Mushfiqur Rahim UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador
Mushfiqur Rahim is going to join UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador as the 4th Bangladeshi cricketer after Habibul Bashar Sumon, Mohammad Ashraful, and Shakib Al Hasan. A UNICEF official confirmed the matter to the media on Thursday.
A UNICEF official said: “We have been talking to Mushfiqur for a couple of months now. He will join us as a goodwill ambassador. We will officially announce the end of the official procedure. In order to nominate someone as a goodwill ambassador, we have to go through several formalities.
We have to create his biodata, background and send it to the headquarters. After the headquarters saw it and gave ‘go-ahead’, then we announced. Now we are discussing the initial stage. However, it is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. It may take a week or even a month.
Shakib joined as a goodwill ambassador in 2013. Habibul Bashar Sumon and Mohammad Ashraful were nominated in 2005.
