Sharing the video, Dhoni write that, “When, you know what’s coming, and you turn on the camera, and you get it in the next minute, sorry for the bad light, but it’s the jargon that’s fun, the referees’ decision, the last choice, it brings back the school days. I would never have accepted this to happen if I didn’t have this video. We’ve all witnessed this at some point in cricket. Enjoys (sic) “.

It was on this very day, 12 years ago, that a young MS Dhoni boasting his long hair led India to the title at the opening of the ICC World T20, defeating Pakistan’s archrivals by five races at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

Dhoni will reportedly not be available for selection until November. The former Indian captain had previously missed the West Indies tour after taking a two-month break, which also meant he missed the newly concluded local series against South Africa.

The extension of rest means you will miss the Vijay Hazare Trophy and the local T20I series against Bangladesh.
