Mohammad Yousuf criticized Misbah-ul-Haq and PCB
It is increasingly clear that former cricketers do not like the idea that Misbah-ul-Haq has been given a dual role by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). After Ramiz Raja and other former cricketers, Mohammad Yousuf again criticized the PCB and its decision to appoint Misbah.
Speaking to the media, Yousuf said Misbah had not been appointed on merit. He added that assigning him the dual role would be a substantial long-term disadvantage. The head coach will be with the national team, so how could he look at first-class players with his own eyes? The head selector will have to decide based on score sheets or what provincial coaches provide. So, if the provincial coaches must do all the work, then what was the need for a head selector?
Questioning the appointment again, Yousuf said that on merit, there were more deserving people than Misbah for the job. If that were the case, the coach of the wading wads Younis was a more qualified candidate for the position of head coach. I am appalled that Waqar Younis was able to settle for the role of steamer coach when he deserved to be the head coach and head coach.
Yousuf also supported Mickey Arthur’s suggestion that Misbah-ul-Haq stabbed him to get the position of head coach. Misbah himself wanted the place, which was very much in opposition to the former coaching regime as a member of the committee. That is why I say that his appointment was unfounded.
