Misbahul Haq to overlook Umar Akmal fitness for national selection

Pakistan’s batsman Umar Akmal again considered for the national team despite his discipline and fitness problems. According to sources, Akmal’s fitness recently assessed at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore. Head coach Misbahul Haq wants to give Umar Akmal another chance at international cricket and is likely to overlook his fitness problems.

The 29-year-old last seen in action during the Pakistan Cup in April. Although he gave a good account of himself with the bat, his physical condition did not live up to international standards.

Similarly, Imad Wasim is likely to be more relaxed in the YoYo test due to ongoing problems with his knee. Imad also skipped the YoYo test before the team’s selection for the 2019 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup.

It should be noted that the all-rounder Umar Akmal recently participated in the Vitality T20 Blast in England, rather than treating his knee.
