Misbah ul Haq Applies for Head Coach of Pakistan and Step down PCB Committee For a Reason
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced Misbah-ul-Haq step down from the PCB Cricket Committee after expressing interest in requesting the role of head coach of the national cricket team.
Misbah met with Cricket’s International PCB Director Zakir Khan on Monday afternoon and informed him of his decision, after which he formally requested the position of head coach.
Former Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq said:
It has been exciting to see my name mentioned as future head coach of the Pakistan cricket team, but the fact is that I only made the decision today.
I’m applying for the head coaching position fully aware that the competition will be fierce as I anticipate that there will be some more highly competent and highly qualified people who apply for the toughest and most challenging jobs in the cricket game.
In saying that, I must admit that it is everyone’s dream to coach the Pakistan cricket team, which has enormous potential to be a force to be taken into account in all formats.
The PCB announced the role of head coach on August 9, and the last date for applications is August 26.
The PCB hopes to complete the process in early September so that the team’s new management can take over in time to prepare the Pakistan cricket team for the upcoming international season, which begins on September 27 with the ODI and T20I series Sri Lanka in Karachi.
