Misbah is unhappy with the appointment of the former cricketers
Pakistan’s head coach and selector Misbah-ul-Haq has expressed dissatisfaction with the appointment of a High-Performance Center (HPC) and provincial team coach without heeding his advice. According to Cricket Pakistan, Misbah, the head coach and selector of the national team, was unhappy with the appointment of the former cricketers without consulting him. Although they were selected from a shortlist through interviews.
The coaches appointed for the HP Center were selected on the recommendation of a panel comprising Saqlain Mushtaq, Shahid Aslam and Grant Bradburn. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed coaches for the HP Center and various provincial teams for the purpose of recruiting former cricketers for various roles.
Basit Ali, Abdul Rehman, Faisal Iqbal, Abdul Razzaq, Shahid Anwar and Wasim Khan were selected as the ones who would recommend head coach Misbah-ul-Haq for the selection of players for the national and domestic teams.
Misbah believes that such an important decision should have been made on the basis of the recommendations of everyone involved. Although Basit Ali, Abdul Razzak, Faisal Iqbal and Shahid Anwar were given seats in the new selection committee, Punjab coach Ijaz Jr., who won the title in the last Central tournament, was left out. And this is the main reason for Misbah’s dissatisfaction.
Meanwhile, Misbah-ul-Haq may be relieved of the post of national team selector at the end of the England tour. The PCB is thinking of an alternative to relieve the head coach and the head selector from the pressure of holding the two posts together. He could be replaced by a former star pacer of the country. That is what a reliable source of PCB has hinted.
